hi, i'm ruolan wu :)
I am a multimedia artist from Baltimore, Maryland, with a foundation in fine art. I'm passionate about the potential of audiovisual mediums like film and video games for storytelling, and I hope to design narratives through my art that resonate deeply with the audience.

Currently, I’m studying at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, where I’m exploring innovative ways to bring narratives to life. When I’m not creating, you can find me relaxing at The Last Bookstore or in a cozy cat café.

In college, I combine my love for storytelling with critical analysis, writing papers on the cultural impact of films and visual art. Through hands-on projects, I refine my skills in 3-D modeling, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and coding languages like JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and Python, using code as a creative medium to merge art and technology.

I strive to create work that is both emotional and authentic, believing that imagining a better world is the first step toward making it real.

I spent my high school years creating non-stop. While I worked in traditional mediums like charcoal and oil paint for still life drawings and figure studies, I chose to specialize in film production.

In class, I familiarized myself with the different crew roles and their responsibilities on set. I also produced several independent short films across genres like documentary, narrative, and experimental. Some of these won awards at the Scholastics Art and Writing Awards and the Maryland Film Festival.
